Middle School Student Program

Middle schoolers find themselves transitioning between their childhood and high school.. They are growing physically and mentally at a very fast pace. Even their brains are changing.

The really good news is that one of the brain changes has been a secret till recently. Neuroscientists and psychologists at Stanford University have used cutting-edge functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging to look inside the brain. One part of the brain was recently named the Visual Word Form Area (V.W.F.A). They noticed that during reading activity, the brain processed words so fast... I felt like it was at the speed of light. Words were measured as being read in milliseconds!

American students take reading comprehension tests every year in school, and for the last 50+ years, our boys and girls in middle schools across the country have averaged about 250 words per minute. Why no real change in 40 years?

That's old news.

We at RTR have developed a different reading comprehension system that includes Stanford's recent research in how brains actually work. This includes three other recent research projects that will help our students read more effectively and remember it.

The simple answer is that Maria Montessori discovered the basic Eye, Hand, Brain connection in Italy over 100 years ago. This is The Foundation for implementing the most recent Stanford research. Using these tools, every student who uses the RTR system has had extraordinary, measurable growth.

So, are you reading to grow YOUR brain and read at the speed of light?
